    Default Not quite wilderness...

So, I'm starting a disaster preparedness group in my town. The nearest one is over an hour away. Wish me luck - I have no idea what I'm doing LOL!

But, it needs done, there has been a lot of talk and zero action. Will be talking with first responders next week for tips, suggestions and hopefully, speakers.
Cheer up, the worst is yet to come.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Good luck!

You might also talk to the Red Cross.

Does your town have a CERT program? If so, that might not only be a good resource, but also a list of people that might be interested in attending.

And your local hospital or Homeland Security group. They plan for and perform disaster drills (or should).

All it takes is guts and you can get the job done, even if you have no knowledge...

But can an army of sheep do a journey of a thousand miles?

Good going! Better to do something, even if it's wrong. You'll figure it out as you go.

I'd ask the guys attending IDPA and IPSC combat shooting matches, put up placards at gun shows, shooting ranges, martial arts training halls. Some will be interested.
