I found a interesting pictorial/story on the web about a Russian living the old ways.

so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?

I was kinda looking at some real estate deals that were in the back of an International Elk Hunting Magazine.....maybe back in the early 1990's......
    Was in the classifieds.
Looked like some one was trying to sell? (can you own anything in Siberia?)....land like 100 sq miles plots or some such.

At the time I was thinking "New Frontier"....make a Ponderosa....

Interesting....but most likely not many takers......

111 days without a bath or clean clothes. I don't think I care to do it.

I can't even imagine living in such conditions although I understand that they can make me stronger.

It's doable as far as I'm concerned. In my past I have lived on mostly bannock for months at a time. At that same time there was no running water, electricity, gas fired appliances. Not even a out house. I envy this russian for having milk and eggs. It's funny but the thing I enjoyed the most when it happened was a hot bath, that was golden.

I appreciate the experiment, but it looks pretty grim. That right there is the definition of "existing/surviving". Not "living."
In my book there's a difference.

One can still bathe in that situation. He either was really ignorant or just lazy enough to not want to clean up a bit, neither his person nor his surroundings.

A swim in a river goes a long ways or even a sponge bath but there's nothing like a soak in a hot bath.

Me thinks there are some mental issues at play there.

Could be that the body hair just grew out thru the long handles, making it painful to take off.........

wow.now thats rustic living for sure.
we are off the grid or trying to be.
we have a cabin we built but we are not that primitive.
we do have a shower .its outside.its a tarp pulled and tacked around three trees with plywood at the bottom so
we dont get hurt feet or more dirty feet as we step out of our shower.i fill milk jugs with water and
put them out in the meadow to get hot.and they do.
we get in our shower and get cleaned off really good.
amazing pictures.wow.thanks for this link.really interesting.

I reckon you never heard about Johnny Behind the Rocks. A old mountain man that when he got old the authorities rescued him. They stripped his cloths and gave him a bath and he died on the spot.

Well, apparently the dirt was all that was holding him together. Of course, they might call that a crust.
