    Default The first step...

Last Sunday I went with my disaster preparedness group on a hike. Only 3 miles. No big, right? I used to do 6 - 14 miles a day.

Of course, I was a teenager. That was a long time ago. I'm a LOT rounder.

It was a beautiful day, on a beautiful mountain, at 4000 feet. The dog made friends with some local wildlife.

Its been a week, and my butt and legs finally quit hurting. I am determined to do this until its no longer an issue.

Just wanted to share with y'all what I've been up to.

I feel your pain, I'm a lot rounder too and it plays havoc with the knees! Keep going, it does get better.

Love the way the Dog is cooling off.

Hey gal, good looking woods. Your doing good getting out there. I've been a couch potato for too long now, sure couldn't do what your doing. That's why I love this site, I get to go along with people like you and enjoy your trip, while just holding the sofa down, to keep it from flying away. lol
Do you know what kind of tree that is on the right side of the trail in pix #2?

Every time an older person dies, its like burning a full set of encyclopedias that will never be published again. So, if you ever want to learn more of anything, just find a old tradesman and hang out with him and then when he passes on, not the full set will burn, you'll have parts of it to pass on to others.
