Default Book: The Soldier's Load and The Mobility of a Nation

I'm sure some of you have read this book, especially if you served in the armed forces as an Officer or Staff NCO. It's a small 5x8, 120 page book containing material that originally appeared in The Infantry Journal and The Combat Forces Journal. It was copyrighted in book form in 1950. Basically it's about the logistics of moving military forces and it uses many historical events to make its point. Of course I first read it when I was in the Marine Corps, but have read it over again many times after I got out. If you have ever been in charge of a group of people in the outdoors, you know of the problems that come with getting them to, and back again, the locations you want to be. Backpacking, Canoeing, Hunting, and Fishing, all have unique but very similar concerns when moving a group. It may seem like an unusual read for an outdoorsperson but there's a great value here for any outdoor leader. I highly recommend it.
