I'll never understand why some people choose living like this. Well, people who are not mentally ill that is.
An earlier poster said it - It's existing/surviving, not living. Roughing it for a week or two is fine, but permanently? Count me out.

we have a cabin we built but we are no that primitive.
we do have a shower .its outside.its a tarp pulled and tacked around three trees with plywood at the bottom so
we dont get hurt feet or more dirty feet as we step out of our shower.i fill milk jugs with water and
put them out in the meadow to get hot.and they do.
we get in our shower and get cleaned off really good.
amazing pictures.wow.thanks for this link.really interesting.
Built a shower off the side of the shed....roof collects water down spout and first flush to blue drum....then manual pomp to second drum, sprayer pomp to 2-1/2 water heater (was solar collector, replaced and up graded).

    Add shower rods and curtains,....shower.

We put errors on a timer. We kept forgetting to add them..... I really don't know.

My friend's shower. Fill the pressure tank with warm water, pump it up, turn it on.

My previous shower in my last cabin. Of course I ended up putting a big hook in the ceiling to hang the shower bag from. Tuck the shower curtains in and have plenty of water for a nice warm shower.

those are some pretty good showers ...
i use to use the solar shower bag.
now i just use an old milk jug and pour it over after its been out in the sunshine.
last time at camp i did not take the heated water shower.
hubby was waiting to see how that one went.
one sort of scream of yee haw!! thats cold.but i was clean and cooled off.
    so it did the trick.
of course i dont want to use any outdoor shower in the middle of winter.
