To create a post or a group or a blog post that only invited members can see? Not that I want to exclude anyone specifically, I just don't want this subject open to the general public.

Cool. So the moderated invite only one can not be seen by anyone not invited to the discussion?

I'm pretty sure that guest can still see it but not post. Let me log on as a guest and do some checking to make sure. There may be a feature on blog posts where you can restrict to only "friends". I'll find out and let you know.
It looks like anybody can view any group whether or not they are members or have been invited to join that group. The restrictions seem to be on posting.
For blogs, you can set it up so that only those on your contact or friends list can see it. To do that select....
Blogs
Blog Settings
Permission & Privacy
If you go that route, I would do a "test" entry to make sure it works the way you want it to and the way I think it will.
As a note - moderators can see all of the blog entries regardless of permission settings.
Ok great. I'll do a test. I mean, it's just an opportunity I have and an idea I'd like to brain storm with my trusted buddies (not the public.)

We have a test account that is simply a member. I logged in under that name and I can't access your blog. I'm completely blocked from seeing anything. Exactly what welderguy received in post 8.
