I just did get a Mosin... It shoots better than I do! Love the thing, God only knows when it was made and how many rounds it's shot...

Should we start another thread or just consider discussion of MN rifles THE upgrade from the 788?
If we do not start another thread our vast knowledge of this subject might never show up on the search function and the damage to humanity might be irreparable!

Ammo cost about the same per round as premium .223 for non corrosive. Ive been getting mine from CTD, though Id rather go with Lucky Gunner, which is where I usually get my X39 from.
Corrosive is about $90/440rnds, I havent gotten any because Im fresh out of Windex and Im too lazy. :-)

Nice shooting.
If I may....................
open ammo can.....hot brass being ejected......what could possibly go wrong.
Custom aftermarket stock?....
Gotta work that action like you are mad at it.....

I bought it with the ATI stock already on it, $180 out the door... I figured it was way cheaper than buying the Mosin, then buying the stock, which I wanted already.
This was her first ever experience with a bolt, and the Mosin is a stubborn bolty. I told her to work it like a boss, and she started getting the hang of it better... I think she didnt want to "hurt" it. (As if you can hurt a Mosin).
I *think* the previous owner got rid of it because it was a mean bear to load... The rounds were really difficult to go into the magazine. I spent 10 min with a Dremel and the rounds float in like butter now.
BTW, the plates are 10" AR500, a ten inch plate at 50 yards takes a bit of skill with iron sights I think you can agree.
