    That's a Florida Soft Shell (soup turtle) and they are nesting right now. So they are moving around on land. We saw several on the grade or beside it. But, this one just flattened out and refused to move. So, my brother Sean helped it out of the path. That nose is its snorkel. The turtles have long necks and can reach about half way back on their shell. So, you have to handle them carefully from the back half.
