I was hoping it was rubbing alcohol. Alcohol swabs dry out over time, as the alcohol evaporates through the packaging.

Stupid and pointless. They basically got tiny particles to soak it up. It doesn't weigh less. They binded it to a carbohydrate. Won't save weight. Just a gimmick:...

Yes. In fact, I have heard that the packaging warns against doing so ... as if that will stop anyone, and not give anyone else the idea in the first place.

I had to wonder how concentrated he alcohol could be made to be in its reconstituted form, or in its "dry" form. That is, how effective as a fuel the powder might be. Or whether rubbing the powder with sweaty or otherwise wet hands could be used as a hand sanitizer. Or, or, or ....

But I'm not sure the thought of reconstituted booze sounds appealing, as a beverage.

I'd assume it could be made 95.6% in powdered form, and reconstituted to such, provided you used the right amount of water to reconstitute.

The powdered fuel would probably be as pointless or more pointless as the liquid fuel.

"Back in the day" the French issued a wine concentrate to their troops. It was very similar to our concentrated OJ. One can of about 6oz was to be mixed with 2 liters of water for full strength wine.

    Naturally, they drank is straight.

The troops called it "Tiger's Blood"

Well, I don't know how it works....but eating dry oatmeal out of it's package, and a hot cup of coffee doesn't work too good.
