Cool Looking for Alaskan Wilderness Survival Guides

    Hi all,

I'm looking for off-beat Alaskan survival guides to take me through the wilderness. Whether they are pros or just have been living in the bush for 5 years, I would love to find someone unique and off the grid. Please send names and contact info. if you have it. Thanks!

There are a ton of guides for hire. A simple google search will give you their names (and more information then you have given us...)

You might offer up some information on yourself. There are guides on here and others we might know of but we'd hate to give their information to an ax murderer or serial killer. Thanks for understanding.

I'm Canadian originally, living in Los Angeles at the moment! Planning a trip with some friends from Alberta.

What is it that you want to do? What do you want a guide for? Hunting, hiking, tour guide? For what area? Alaska is a huge state. If you are going to the south central area, that would be a whole different thing then going to the Arctic or the Interior. Do you just need a tour guide for your over night in Fairbanks as you are doing a Princess Cruise or do you want someone to take you into the back country for a multi day adventure? Really, I can't help you if you don't give any more information then you are planning a trip!

Wait, how does a cruise ship get to Fairbanks?

I'm guessing that "Wilderness Survival" guide means they want to get right into the thick of things, off the beaten path.

Someone who can take us out into the bush for a multi-day adventure. Someone who has lived out there before and knows what it takes. I appreciate the help guys and gals!

Lol I'm glad you asked. The cruise lines will bus the people to Fairbanks where they can over night (or multi night) and then take the train back or bus back or go on to the north slope.

I know he said wilderness but you would be amazed at the people that think camping in a campground is "wilderness".

It still depends on where and what type of trip you'd like. You want to just hike out on the tundra or do you want the forests of south central?

I’m sorta kinda sure this idea could be slightly awesome. If I’m right then this will be a fantastic adventure, but if not then the failure will be someone else's fault.

This is like asking for a guide to take you through the western states. What part of Alaska are you talking about?

Guides around Anchorage would be ideal.

Over the course of five days we've managed to drag out of you that you need a guide around Anchorage for a couple of days. Nothing like being vague.

Doesn't Native Dude live in Alaska? He might be a good option. Oh wait, never mind...I think he is 250 miles from civilization.

So what exactly is the definition of "adventure?" in this case?
