In reference to the Cow post, I've worked a couple ranches in Arizona ( desert), and have found that a cow even in 100+ temps with no water can walk a LONG distance, We recovered a few strays as far away as 45 miles, all hard desert maybe she found water along the way but the condition she was in ( alive at the time) leads me to believe she was without water . So there really isn't a sure bet that water is close or even humans.
