Sure. I'll study for the bar exam in another state. I'll take the bar exam in another state. Hopefully, I'll pass the bar exam in another state. Then I'll say goodbye to my family and close friends here, close my office, send a couple of thousand clients away, open in another state, and take a 90% cut in income for a few years. Yeah, thanks for the advice.
BTW - Mass doesn't issue a gun license that I don't already have.

Ken, you live in New England. You could move to another state and still have all the same clients, work in the same office, and be close to family. Mass. is a small state. It is only 60 miles from Brattleboro Vt to Springfield MA.

Hey, FM. Brattleboro? With peak traffic, that would be at least a 7-hour round trip commute to the office for me, LOL.
Law practices take quite a while to get reestablished when you move any appreciable distance.
If I'm moving anywhere, it'll be a place with palm trees in the front yard.

See, people don't understand that unless you are retired, a student, or in a profession where you can get transferred, it's not that easy to just pack up your trailer and move. That of course shouldn't prevent you from kvetching about where you live. It's a small consolation and one of the few pleasures left.
...It's like telling a guy in combat...hey, if you don't like it, move to a desk job in Hawaii.
Why would you drive it in peak traffic? I know that the east coast has WAY more people and traffic is horrendous. I am a little spoiled here. I moved to a small town about 30 miles from my job and it only takes about 45 minutes to drive one way. Before I moved to the small town, I lived closer to the office, but it took me 30 minutes to fight traffic. It was all a matter of picking the right spot. Anyways, all I am saying is, if you really wanted to live in a different state, you could figure out a way to keep the same office in the same spot with the same clients and live in a different state close by. How many people live in Connecticutt and MA and RI and NJ but work in NYC? Probably more than live in my state. If you really wanted to, you could figure out how to do it.
As for family, my MIL lives about an hour away. She used to live 24 hours away. We consider her "close". My brother is about an hour and a half away. He used to be about 16 hours away. He is "close" as well. We still all get together for birthdays, holidays, special events. Of course, there are families in my neighborhood with parents and grown children living a few houses from each other. They think 15 minutes is too far. Perspective is everything I guess.

Peak traffic is from 6:30 am - 9:00 am and from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. If I wanted to avoid most of the peak traffic, I'd have to be on the road by 3:00 in the morning and I wouldn't get back home until about 9:00 at night. Not my idea of a decent lifestyle. I have three court appearances out of town this week. The longest, on Thursday, will be a minimum 4 hour round trip.
I live in the southeast corner of the state - not within commuting distance of Vermont. If I wanted to spend hours sitting in traffic everyday, I would have opened an office in Boston.
And for what it's worth, the laws aren't much different in Rhode Island or Connecticut, either.

You haven't posted here in over 8 months, since the day spouted off here: http://www.wilderness-survival.net/f...sible-for-Many And NOW, in your first 2 posts after your hiatus, you're gunning for battle with me.
You really have some serious personal issues you should deal with.

I would just as soon see you stay where you are at and change the laws with freedom in mind. In the long run I think this will be better for everyone.
so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?
I know you are and in the long run if you succeed hopefully there will be less chance for the BS to spill over to other states, hopefully.
