It looks to light easier then an Esbit cell though. Pretty cool.
Why do I live in Alaska? Because I can.

What was the purpose of putting it into the water?
Was it to show that it will work when wet?

Yes, I'm sure that was the reason.

Looks neat. Easy to light in that it'll take a spark. Works when wet is a plus.

Only two things to consider. How long does it last and how much does it cost? According to the website it is $10 plus shipping and doesn't list how long it'll last. could be five minutes, could be five years. $10 plus shipping could be money wasted or the best ever spent.
