My 1895 is roughly that weapon but without the takedown. Compensated, short, drilled n tapped reciever, crossbolt safety, but cnc cut wood instead of those tacky fiberglass stocks.

I don't know man ? I consider "Wild West" to have wooden stock, octagon barrell, brown steel, rear tang peep sight - you know, a real cowboy gun. That thing looks like a Hollywood movie prop to me, But thats just my opinion - to each his/her own....

If it goes bang and hits where you point it's all good to me. That and I'm addicted to gun porn.

Yeah, I share you opinion of what it should "Look Like".......
Then again, this was designed to be a pack rifle weather proof and big enough to take down Alaska's biggest animals.

Starting pricing with scope over $3K and a I'll bet I could spend $ 4K with bells and whistles....I guess I could have it done anyway I wanted to.....LOL

So for all those that keep saying, "If only they made....or I wish they would make....?......Here ya go let your pocket book be your guide.

Did you see on the show where it ''Blew Up'', during R&D, until they added just a tiny bit more receiver metal? Not really liking that part?
I do like the take down part on a stock 45/70. Don't know why I'd ever need it but like Rick said gun porn.....

With those lever guns in 45.70 you have to pay attention to the reloading tables. There are actually 3 different types of loads. There are the loads for the sharps (lightest) and the loads safe in the lever action, and then the loads ONLY for the Ruger #1 and other modern (non lever action) rifles capable of handling the pressures. The highest load for a lever would be the 400gr bullet. Kicks like a mule but hits like an asteroid. The ruger loads go all the wayup to 500gr solids. These hit like the hammer of thor, at both ends.

At that price I'll stick with my 50-110 Winchester.

Brass must kill you, what diameter does that 50-110 use? But i bet it shoots BP and cast bullets just fine.

It takes a .510 bullet. I have a couple molds for casting plus have picked up bullets from buffalo arms. I have a fair amount of brass. There are still a few unopened boxes of unprimed brass from the early 1900s that I haven't opened yet. Been hoping a collector may come along and trade me new brass for my old collector brass.
