    Default How cold is it?

It's SO cold, the flashers in Central Park are only describing themselves.

My eyeballs froze on the way to work so it worked out for the best.
Seriously though, this is brutal; much, much, worse than skiing in Utah. It's the kind of cold that settles in your bones through all the layers of clothing and nothing seems to help except a nice, long, hot shower.
    Hope y'all a faring better.

Give us back our weather! It's so WARM out today that schools and businesses are closed down. Seriously. This warmth melts the snow pack on the road which turns to a sheet of ice.

The arctic weather swings through the Midwest dumping snow and below 0 temps and the news says things are pretty cold. That same front swings into the East Coast and the news says a brutal arctic killer storm has hit the northeast where temperatures have plummeted to dangerously cold levels leaving millions in near panic. That same front in Fairbanks gets an honorable mention on page 5. Eh.

It's colder than a well diggers butt in the Klondike.

So cold I have not been outside since the snow on Monday. I think crutches on snow and ice are not a good combo with my broken ankle.

Moist air blowing over us from the ocean is the killer for those of us who live along the coast. The temps in north-central Massachusetts are often at least 10 degrees lower than here, but it always feels warmer there than where I live because of the lower humidity inland.

Durn, even heard that Hawaii had cities that were below freezing today, said that at least one city/area in each of the 50 states had temps below freezing.

So many jokes about certain undergarments left behind by Michelle when she returned to Washington..... But this isn't the "Anything Remotely Political" sub-forum.

Global warming seems to be the culprit for the frigid temps.

There's a scientific name for it. It's called the "algore effect."

It's just another day in New England. <shrug>
Psst...it gets cold during the winter here. There's always a week near the beginning of February that's a deep freeze near zero. Vortex schmortex. As long as I'm not shoveling that global warming off the roof, I'm perfectly happy.

It's 40 degrees right now in SD! Really strange. It's 52 degrees warmer than it was 16 hours ago.

I hate to say it but this cold spell has been good for business, really good. About like a full moon for Ken. LOL.
