Default You Wanna Be An Alaskan Trapper?

Just make sure no matter how long you've been there and how much you think you know about "survival" out in the harsh country, never take it for granted that something bad can't happen.

In this case, it seems that "Familiarity breeds contempt." A husband and wife, long time Alaska trappers of over 30 years, made some mistakes and it nearly cost them their lives. Fortunately, each managed to use survival skills to persevere until finally, they were found. Glad they made it out alive... and bet they don't make those same mistakes again.

These two incidents also show why some Alaska and Canadian trappers still use dogs and sled.
