I like NC vinegar-style BBQ so much, I make my own sauce, keep it permanently on the table, and squirt it on just about everything I eat.

Well where I'm from, good BBQ is smoked over a hickory fire for several hours, then the mild but spicey sauce is added at the end and cooked into the meat for a while. It is fall off the bone finger lickin delicious, and there is no hint of vinegar.
If I liked pure vinegar that much I would just drink a jar of friggin pickle juice

BBQ doesn't suck. I've never had BBQ that wasn't bodacious. Dry rub or wet rub, vinegar or brown sugar, it's all good.

I'm with Rick, on this one. When it comes to BBQ, there is good and there is really good.

My least favorite kind of BBQ is still better than most other types of food.

(Since it is cured and smoked, does bacon fall under the flag of BBQ?)

I'm gonna have to make and try some of that white sauce. I've looked up a couple recipes and it is basically the dressing that make for my coleslaw, plus some extra black pepper and some horse radish.

The guy on the lefts face after the mayo sauce was spot on what I looked like. I have a rule to always try everything so I'll have to make up some Alabama style ribs soon.

Here in Utah, there is a place called Pat's. He was featured on Diners, Drive inns and Dives. Very good stuff, but he is from SC I think.
Last year I went to Charlotte on business. I told them to take me to a local BBQ joint. It was great, but tasted a lot like Texas BBQ. I thought it would be different.

I love BBQ. I put BBQ sauce on just about any meat.
