Talking Hello from a wilderness survivor!

Hello, my name is Spirit. I have recently returned from the wilderness, and boy, what a shock it is to be back. I lived in a handmade tipi for four months, hunted deer and fish, and now that the snow is here, I don't feel like going back right now. So, enough about me, how about you?

This happened i the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. I was just out there to experience the peace of nature, and never thought about documenting anything. I ate fish, squirrel, a deer, several different types of autumn mushroom, kenikkenik berries, and some wild onion when i found it. I bought a lifestraw off of amazon before I left, and used that out there. It was an amazing adventure! The snow came in in mid-November. I decided to head back.

Where did you camp? I used to frequent the Poudre River canyon. Snow comes early in the RMNP.

Did you get to watch the snowmobile races on Grand Lake?

Even after I moved away from CO, I made frequent motorcycle trips to Dacono, just east of longs peak.

Welcome Spirit! Glad you have found us. I hope you have a warm, dry place to winter. Long's Peak is very pretty country. I envy you the time there. Looking forward to visiting more.

Welcome home. Sounds like a great adventure. Your location says Rocky Mtn. National Park. Do you live in Colorado now? What a cool backyard that would be.

Welcome to the Forums! Do you have any pics of your adventure to share with us? What did you have for gear other than the lifestraw?

Right now I am living in a cabin I rented near Estes park. I had lived in Chicago, but finding it too busy and yucky, came here. I rented the cabin before I left, and had a little spit with the owner a week back, but it's all good. I never watched the snowmobile races on Grand Lake but once when I was seven. My granddad brought me out to his cabin there and we watched. Come to think of it, it would be cool to see them again! Dacono is where. Have been doing my recent shopping at a discount grocery there. Nice town!

How'd you manage to avoid the snow "till mid-November? The first Colorado Rockies snow of the season fell in late summer.
