My first post here looks like a great place to hang out.
I am a rabid shingshot maker and love hunting with them. Anyone on here ever give it a try?

I used to have an old Wrist-Rocket when I was a kid. Belonged to my dad really.
Alas, in MA, while it isn't specifically illegal to own one, it is illegal to manufacture or sell one...in theory anyway.

Lowkey,
it is impossible to make forked sticks and rubber bands illegal.
Gryff,
I actually eat a lot of squirrels my favorite is probably Brunswick stew, but I also love squirrel and dumplings and a nice young one like the one in the pic chicken fried with gravy.

They can make anything illegal. Maybe not keep people from doing it. Come to california and tell me they can't make something illegal.
That's OK I will just stay where I am.
You are right you can write whatever silliness you choose on a piece of paper, getting anyone to pay any attention to it is another matter entirely.
Where do you get those wide flat bands?

Thanks man, it is a dogwood fork trimmed from my parents backyard. I make the bands myself from exercise bands. My flat bands compared to commercial tubes in the states, the flats are MUCH faster and MUCH easier to draw, the box store tubes do last a lot longer. Flats are cheap and easy to make so it is no problem to carry a couple of spare sets and you can change them in a matter of minutes.
The Chinese are very big into slingshots and make some thin tubes that are very good, still not quite as fast as the flats but they last longer and are fast enough to get a meal. I still much prefer the performance and feel of the flats. Tbh the marksman and daisy tubes that you get at wal mart are barely functional imo.
Thanks for the info.

For some reason I can't post links. The rubber I use is called thera-band gold, I tried posting a youtube vid of how to cut it and make bands but can't. I buy mine on amazon, you also need a rotary cutter and mat to make bands.
I think I figured it out.
Many thanks.

John has that fancy rig to tie his pouches here is how I tie mine, thanks for the rep.
Good video, explains tying off the rubber bands well.
