    Default Window Security Film

We all want to have the bomb proof home but wanting it and paying for it are two different things. However, there are less expensive ways to fortify your home against weather and intruders. Window security film is one of those options. It's tough stuff and prevents the window glass from shattering during a weather event and propelling glass shards and can slow down a would be intruder. You can purchase it in clear, tint, privacy and all sorts of other designs. Here's a video showing the difference between regular glass and security film.

There all all kinds of do it yourself videos on the web to save on installation costs. Here are some sites that carry it.

You can also find a lot of companies that specialize in the installation of security films. Make no mistake, this stuff will not stop debris from smashing your window during a hurricane or tornado and it will not keep a determined thief from getting in. It might prevent some serious or deadly injuries that would otherwise be inflicted during a severe weather event and will slow a person down enough so you can respond with appropriate tools...if you know what I mean.

That looks like some pretty tough stuff and at a reasonable price.

Check here for some more videos; http://www.deansgroup.co.uk/window-f...fety-security/

Very good stuff if you select it in the right thickness, best paired with an edge retention system if your intending it to keep people out

Thanks Tony. I hadn't thought about a retention edge. Good stuff.
