    Default Weed Eater

Hello, I'm always checking out what other folks are doing. I live on a small farm and teach foraging classes.
I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, although I respect folks that make those life choices. I live in the same house I was born in and we tend to do a great many things the 'old way'. My community still has barn raisings and a farm butchering usually means a 'party' with food and booze.
We're active hunters and reloaders, gardeners and foragers.
We live a good and happy life with many of the same concerns, ideas, worries and thoughts that I'm sure most of you have.
    Pleased to meet 'cha.

Welcome from Alaska. Wow, as someone who has moved often for most of my life, I can't imagine living in the same place for all those years. Well until I found Alaska. I'll never move from here.
Why do I live in Alaska? Because I can.

I actually did move. I have a place in Montana. Came home to take care of my dying mother and somehow just stayed.

Seems as though our new member didn't care for our anti-spam rules and decided to delete her posts. I've restored it and one other where there was interaction with other members. Where there was no interaction I deleted the thread.

@ScotchHeather - you may think our anti-spam rules are silly, but there is a very good reason for them. If you do in fact come back to the forum send me a PM and I'd be happy to explain them for you.

She started sticking her blog URL in her posts. I deleted the URL and explained the reason I deleted it. I even sent a very nice PM to her explaining why I took the action and inviting her to stick around and place it in her signature. I thought she had some very good information to share. Then she went back and started deleting posts. So either her intent was to advertise her blog of she just had some childish temper tantrum.

That's too bad. I really liked what she had to contribute.
Also...wouldn't a personal URL in the signature be the best of all worlds since it would always there no matter what you post? Don't understand the resistance to it.

That's what I tried to explain in the PM. For some reason she felt we made it too hard to access information because we would not allow her to post her blog URL. I also tried to explain if we allowed it the forum would be full of spammers only wanting to do just that. Whatever her reason she decided to go back and delete her posts, which is kind of childish. No one bothers to read the forum rules when they join then they get upset because they don't get their way.
