Super cool, fun stuff and really useful.
Thanx, Ken.
Always good info. I'm not sure about the metal detector though. One note, the crew of the Lady Be Good perished in the Libyan desert from dehydration. Their remains were not discovered until the late 1950s. It was the plane's very first mission and they got lost returning to base flying well beyond where they should have landed. They decided to bail out. The plane was found nearly intact with food and water on board. They had none and their final days were captured in one of the men's diary that was found with his remains. Some really spooky stuff with reclaimed and reused aircraft components taken from the Lady Be Good as well. Interesting read all around. Here's the Reader's Digest version.

Cool tips, Ken, thanks for the link, I'd really like to try the shirt-spit fishing thing. Water's a little cold right now in Alaska, though. Has anyone ever tried it?

In the end you find no one wins, and the race was only with yourself.
Gene did a video a couple of years back where he herded minnows into a small cove ette, caught them and cooked them for lunch. The point being I don't think you have to even spit to catch them. He caught quit a few just herdng them into more and more shallow water.

I Wonder Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here, and drink what ever comes out?"
My favorite uncle, swore by spitting tobacco juice on his lures..........he caught fish......But as far as just spitting in the water, I gonna have to wait till I get on a lake with kinda still water.
Fish may just see a disturbance, which means "something foody" to a fish....I'm not a fish, but sounds good.....LOL
Mostly I fish on a river and the water moves too fast.

good to know, yeah, I guess spitting in a river would be exhausting, all that good saliva washing away in the current!
