Ka-bar hatchet?

Brother in law found this in his dads stuff, hatchet blade, looked on eBay, there's some that are stamped like his that have a hole all the way thru the tang to be interchangeable with a knife blade in a sheath kit form. The ones with the leather stacked handle hatchets were stamped across the tang right above the handle. His does not have the hole thru the tang like the ones with the knife blade. Just a divit? Was at a Show today.....saw a combo Kabar Knife and hatchet, but was in a combo sheath, so they didn't interchange....Looked like the old Western combo....(guy had on of them as well......$150 each.

I do not know either, but it is very cool, how does the blade lock into the handle I can't tell from the pic's?

Don't know, one he has just has a divit in the tang. One with the set on eBay has a hole. That's what I'm trying to figure out if it had a permanent handle or if it was part of a set like the one I found online

You could just make a frame handle for it, or weld on a bolt and make a stacked leather, etc, there are options.

Gotta see what he wants to do, anyone on here do that sort of thing if that what he decides?

sorry i don't know either but it's a very cool find. nice looking hatchet!!!
