    Default Buttermilk

I know I can't be the only person in the world that drinks buttermilk, but it sure seems that way around here. Family, friends, even people in the grocery store always react with a "Eeeyeeeww! You DRINK that? That's for cooking, you're not supposed to drink that!"

I actually like the semi-sour taste of buttermilk, and it's a great source of probiotics as well as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and riboflavin.

Does anyone here drink buttermilk? Besides me?

I've been buying vanilla almond milk as well. I just like the taste.

Yewbetcha!! I favor the Bulgarian style. By itself or with cornbread. Love it.

I LOVE that stuff too...til I looked at the sugar content. Now it's only an occasional treat.
Also love Almond milk and use that exclusively.

I grew up with my dad drinking buttermilk, but I never acquired a taste for it myself...I only use it in biscuits and pancakes.
There ain't too many problems you can't fix with $500 or a 30-06.

That's one of the things I accuse my family of switching me at birth for (the other thing is raw tomatoes). They all love buttermilk - I hate it (except for cooking, of course). I attribute the difference to the fact that I often belted back a carton of milk as a child without sniffing it. The result was frequently traumatic.

I also have never been able to acquire a taste for almond milk. There some undernote in the flavor that bothers me - bitter or astringent, or some such. I use it occasionally in coffee. Ditto soy milk.
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

I love almond anything, so unsweetened almond milk was not hard to get used to.
Would probably sell my soul for marzipan the way 2D would for bacon.

Aye. marzepan is right up there with bacon....doesn't smell quite as heavenly, though.
