Default What is your favorite gun?

I just wanted to get a check on your favorite guns. Mine has become my Rossi .357 4". It doesn't take up much room, or add that much weight, and packs a pretty good punch for wild hogs, bear, and mountain lions you can encounter in the mountains in southern, central , and northern ca. For rattle snakes, it is a stick, and a knife, (only when I am pretty hungry).

Depends what I'm doing......lot's of different scenarios.
So you talking,...... Of all time?, Hunting?,(lots of game and options) Target shooting?, Collecting? (or just cause I want one), Self protection?, (from what?), Animals/varmints.....4 legged/2 legged, Zombies? CCW/everyday carry?, Truck/truck?, Center fire/Black Powder?, Inherited (Grandpa magic rifle/shotgun).........

I like .357's as well.......so lots of stuff, but prefer Ruger or S&W over Rossi.....Just me.

Ruger 10/22 if mine would work. I really need to bite the bullet and buy a new one...

And yeah, add a category? Fantasy guns? A death ray!.... be more specific....

For a long time my favorite was the only one I had at the time .22 Single shot.....I'm thinking that is the case for a lot of people, or at least used to be.

Randy, what's the matter with your 10-22?

For a long time it wouldn't extract right. Got me real familiar with em stripping it down countless times to figure it out. After no luck and several gun smiths later I found out it was an aftermarket stock that didn't squeeze the sides of the receiver enough and he shimmed it. Worked waay better but so far the best I can get is about a 5-6 shot to 1 jam. Tried all types of grain and brands and no luck. No gunsmith can answer why, but seems to always recommend "finding the ammo it likes".

Asking me which gun is my favourite is like asking me which of my children is my favourite.
so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?

I would probably have to choose my 86 winchester in 50-110 or perhaps my 1917 colt that my granddad converted from 45 AR to 357 mag or maybe my old combination gun that is 12 ga on one side and .40 cal on the other, perhaps too maybe my granddads stevens tip up or his colt officers target. Sometimes maybe I would choose my dads old trapdoor springfield or 94 winchester in 38-55. Maybe too my old 30-40 krag which was the first high powered rifle I ever owned. None of them are real practical but they hold a special meaning to me.

First would be a Glock model 18 (Which is FULL Auto)

Second: Winchester Model 92 "Take-down" Trapper in .45 Long Colt.

A Colt Combat Elite, shot the crap out it, never jammed shot tight groups felt oh so good in my hands. Competed with it, etc... made me look like a better shooter than I am.
Sold/gave it to my cousin when I went for a terminal operation. Very bad odds, 3 died on the table, 1 bled out in the ward, me had the operation, when they released me went back home on a Greyhound bus, apparently wasn't supposed to but I lived. The bad news my cousins doesn't even want to consider selling it back to me, something about it being a great shooter
