I have a Walther P22 with me any time I am outside my house.

Since I have all of a quarter of an acre in town to mow, I don't carry while mowing, as it spooks the tourists!

I have my single six on me most all the time I am outside. Mail lady doesn't even bat an eye anymore when she drops off or picks things up. I have a holster on my four wheeler for the same gun. I'll often forget I have it on, it's so much a part of me. In fact, more than once my wife has had to remind me to take it off when I have to go into town for something.

That's for sure. I was weed eating a while back, and hit some thick grass behind the house. Apparently the neighbors dog got tired of using his yard and decided to poop in mine. So here I am weedeating along, and before i knew it dog poop was flying all over my jeans, shoes and even my shirt! I am glad I didn't have my pistol on that weedeater!

Should have had a shotgun on the tractor today, was putting some brush on the pile, and tamping it down with the bucket......Lots or wascally wabbits took off every which way.....
So it has transformed for brush plié to wabbit-tat.....LOL

Well in my backyard I run into poisonous snakes, coyotes, bobcats, skunks, stray dogs, and most recently hogs. I could probably get by using other methods by after donating about 200 chickens to the buffet I think it's time to reevaluate.

I probably don't need to carry while i'm doing yardwork, but it sure cuts down on the running for a gun part.

It's not a matter of HAVING to carry, it's more of wanting to. We have free range chickens and some turkeys. Horses, sheep, goats.. etc. And also a lot of critters that would like to feed on the above. Lost a lot of chickens last year due to racoons and maybe some foxes. I carry to protect my animals. And the rabbits that get into the garden, well, they often end up in the crock pot too. It's part of country living as far as I am concerned. Have also had some thefts here, and having the reputation of walking around on a daily basis packing heat is a great deterrent to those who may want to take what is mine.
