    Default Firing an AK-47 UNDERWATER...

I think this YouTube video may be going viral; but, just in case you haven't seen it yet, here it is.

This is a super-slow-motion video of what happens when an AK is fired underwater. I, personally, was surprised by how far the projectile did NOT travel through the water...forget about shooting sharks! HA!

    Enjoy...

Pretty cool. I thought of a few questions about the gas expansion and he answered them later in the video. Definitely worth watching for me.

Cool video. Although I don't think I will be trying this with any of my guns.

    Ain't science cool?

Can you imagine a school teacher doing this to get a message across to his students?

You might "forget about shooting sharks" at a distance, but a bang stick fires only on contact (scuba folks may know what that is). The bullet and the gasses penetrate the target. Mine is a .223 but I've seen them in 12 ga.

I am by no means an expert but what do you use the .223 bang stick for? I would think it would go right through a shark. Surprised those guys on "Swamp People" don't use a bang stick. Seems like it might work beeter than trying to hit a moving quarter sized spot.

We use bang sticks here in Florida on gators. Mine is a .44 magnum. My buddies is .357 magnum.

You can't use a firearm other than a bang stick in Florida on public land.

I only used it for real once and between the bullet and gases, it worked marvelously.

Can you imagine the number of forms to fill out, permission slips to obtain, inquiries from parents and school board members to answer and the amount of red tape to be dealt with before a school teacher could use a useful demonstration such as this in a science class. Demonstration would be "way cool" for a physics class but logistics and legal nightmare for the teacher.

I have seen that before. Takes alot of knowledge on firearms to do that and those young gentlemen are very
    intelligent.

Myth Busters had a show on firearms and water about 5 years or so ago. It turns out that the firearms with less velocities were the most accurate and were able to go further. If memory serves me, a muzzle loader went the furthest followed by a .22.
