    Default Blacksmithing.

I've been interested in blacksmithing and was wondering if you are allowed to use a forge in a city with a small backyard and neighbors.I've been searching online with no luck so was wondering if anyone here might know anything about it.All help would be appreciated.

Depends on the city and local ordinance.

Okay.I figured that would be the case.Would I be able to get that information from a local police station or is there somewhere else like a courthouse that I would have to find the laws at?

Try city hall or the local fire company.

I would go with a lp gas fired forge, no smoke that way.
so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?

if you can use a charcoal grill in your back yard you should be able to use a forge, now how the neighbours will take all the hammering my be the problem.

Okay.Thanks.We are allowed to use charcoal grills in the neighborhood. There's only one neighbor that I know of who's who's pretty picky about things, but I haven't had a complaint while working...Yet.

I've been blessed with rather indulgent neighbors, but I wouldn't dream for example of making charcoal in any volume.

With neighbour boys like we have, us charcole making is not much of a problem. There is always fire nextdoor.
What they do we do better...
