I like how this one turned out. Getting the antler to meet in the middle right was a bit tough.

I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.
That came out really nice. Well done.
It scared me a little peening the pins into a dome. I was scared I was gonna crack the antler as I've done before.
The brass spacers also got hot enough to burn the leather spacer causing a small inclusion in the spacer. I think I'll stick with synthetic spacers like the kydex I've been using.

very nice, a generous handle too.
Thanks Randy. The knife has different proportions. The blade is 4.5 inch and is really broad., the handle is almost 7 inch.
Antler forces you do do things you would not do with other materials as dimensions are concerned. It's probably my favorite handle material.

I like the handle, nice job.
I Wonder Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here, and drink what ever comes out?"
I've done some pretty crazy bone and antler handles.

that's one crazy kewl axe too. I have to admit, I love antler for handles. I especially adore scagel style antler handles.
For Conan, it's 26" long and 8 lbs. 3/4" dock pin is the handle/tang. I do like looking at it.

That's a really neat knife. I really like it.

Really like the knife. You did some good work there. Axe is a good looking piece too. Keep up the good work.

Never claimed to be an expert. Just use or do what works for me.
The way you did the spacers on that is pretty amazing. Do you stabalize the antler or is it okay as is? Is the handle scales or did you insert the tang into it? I can't tell from the pics. Anyway, great looking knife and axe.

It's a stick tang rick. Antler is not stabilized

Thanks. I didn't realize antler was that rugged. I guess it serves the animal well enough though.

Rick, it is and isn't that rugged. The front and back piece of this knife are cut from forks. At forks, there's very little marrow and mostly solid horn. I over drill and remove a great deal of the marrow. That void is filled with 2-ton epoxy. The remaining marrow soaks in the epoxy as well. Exposed marrow is coated with super glue and sanded down.
I make quite a few knives with the antler fork as the guard. It's easy and cool as heck.

Really nice looking knife. The antler scales were nicely done.

It is cool. Not only is the antler re-purposed but it looks great. Thanks for the explanation.

Excellent! I like that knife!
