This rig is a camelback Ambush w/3lt water bladder, and belt from a pack, spec-ops brand utility pouch, old surplus holster and Uncle mikes speedloader case.

Food, water, shelter, navigation, coffee, and firearm. Right at 10-15 lbs with the bladder full.
I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

Looks like you have all the bases covered except 1st aid. There's a lot to be said for traveling light.

You might want to check out the Safe Packer by the Wilderness.com. Great way to carry a hand gun in the bush or on a pack belt. Keeps leaves and crud out of the gun.

Nice rig....I kinda wish we could use a back pack during hunting season....but they covet you back tag, that we have to wear.
I do like that set up though.
Safe Packer seems a tad pricey......

My covered holster keeps my wheelgun protected pretty well. That and I don't have $100 to spend. I'm not trying to conceal at all. If I need the handgun, I will need it quickly.
