    Default Klymit® NobleTek™ Insulation

This outfit manufactures adjustable insulation clothing and sleeping pads, among other products.

They use noble gases to inflate the jacket or pad, adding a substantial insulating factor without the weight or constant bulk of fabric insulation.

    Here's their website: http://www.klymit.com/index.php/about-us.html

I have to get some of that. The next time I sit down and it sounds like someone squeezed the air out of a dying frog I can blame the jacket.

The only way to get the benefits of the argon is to carry the argon. A down or synthetic pad may need more insulation for the same warmth, but you don't run out of it over time. Just something to calculate in your plans.

I guess a comparison would be a stove vs a fire. A stove is much better, if you have the fuel. A fire, you almost have indefinite fuel.
