    Made my first paiute deadfall and it was a success the first try.

    Did you use bait? I caught a bird in one by mistake when he tried to take my willow bark cordage o make a nest.

    Thats kind of funny you caught a bird in a deadfall. Good job! Do you have any pics of the deadfall?

    that's awesome!! would i be correct in assuming that there is no size limit on this design? ...could it be used to kill raccoon, deer?

    Theoretically yes, however mods are needed to make it more practical on a larger scale such as two triggers on each side. Well if you call that practical. Good luck setting it up.

    I wouldn't want to be trying to set up a dead fall trap that was big enough for a deer to get under and heavy enough to kill one... mainly cause one mistake and I'm victim. What a story that would make though.

    That very thing happened...sort of...when they were building the White Pass and Yukon Railroad. They were blasting rock for the rail bed and a huge 500 ton boulder rolled over on top of two men and their mules. They are still buried beneath it and a black cross atop it.
