Default March on DC with loaded rifles

Not sure if this is a good idea:

    http://www.wtop.com/109/3312483/Marc...-loaded-rifles

"This is an act of civil disobedience, not a permitted event," he writes on his website.

"We will march with rifles loaded & slung across our backs to put the government on notice that we will not be intimidated & cower in submission to tyranny."

The article says that what they are planning is NOT legal. If that is correct, the plan is about as dumb as dirt. Breaking the law while armed is not going to help the situation. It's just going to end bad for some and make the rest of us look like morons, by association. These people are playing right into the hands of the gun grabbers.

We still have WAAAAYYY too many legal options, to get this country back on track, to resort to this kind of stunt.

God Bless the idiots as they need some brains. I agree it plays right into the hands of the gun grabbers as 2D2K said. I hope they realize the error of their thought process.

This will NOT help our cause - it will tip many "fence sitters" toward the anti-gun movement. I wonder if these idiots realize that they may end up with felony convictions that will cost them their right to own guns in the first place.

maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I worry that this could lead to martial law nationwide or perhaps even the second revolution in this country. I'm not convinced we aren't heading toward revolution anyway, but this could be the proverbial "straw". I'll bypass this march and stick with legal methods at this time. At the same time, I am trying to get prepared to do what is necessary if SHFT as a result of this march.

Years ago in California, the Black Panthers did approximately the same, carried loaded firearms openly to the State House in Sacramento. Open carry of loaded rifles and handguns was at that time, legal. That stunt resulted in several onerous anti-gun laws being passed by the Calif. Legislature and were signed into law by Gov. Ronald Reagan.

One law passed was no more open carry of loaded firearms. Today, there is no open carry of any kind of firearms, period . Afterward, until this day, more and more anti-gun laws were passed there.

I imagine the same would result in D.C. on a Federal level.

Is the numbskull who is planning this idiocy actually a plant from Bloomberg, Soros, and the far left anti-guns organizations??

Still foolhardy, but the plan has apparently been modified to be a little less extreme:

"Now that it’s undeniable that this is going to happen, allow me to make clear how. There will be coordination with DC law enforcement prior to the event. I will recommend that they do the best they can to honor their oaths and escort us on our route. Failing to provide that commitment to safety, we will either be informed that we will only be allowed up to a certain point where we would be arrested. If this is the case, we will approach that point as a group and if necessary, I will procede to volunteer myself to determine what their actual course of action with someone crossing the line will be at which point fellow marchers will have the choice of joining me one at a time in a peaceful, orderly manner, or turning back to the National Cemetery."

I love the enthusiasm, but the deployment may need a little tweaking....

Well, they have the God given right to do so, secured by the amendment to the constitution that says gov't is not to infringe on that right.

Gov t apparently has willing men to use their guns to kill or cage those who would exercise this right.

Who is morally right, who has the might to make their way stick, right or wrong?

Well only time and circumstances will reveal that answer. I know what I think, but I"m not saying.

I'm going to guess you aren't very old. If the '60s with all the urban riots, Kent State and the murder of a president and the fall of President Nixon in '74 didn't do it I doubt very much will. This is like a -25 on the old Martial Law Meter.

While I applaud their enthusiasm, I think it will play out very badly. If arrested and convicted they will now be felons, which will give the gun ban crowd what they want ---- disarming people.

How to distance yourself from nut jobs?

I went to a tea party rally a few years ago and this one guy had his AR. He looked like a red neck fool. They are fuel for the anti-gunners

You distance yourself by speaking about it and being intellectually honest.
Same thing applies to us as it does to all peace loving Muslims who don't vehemently speak against their lunatic fringe.

I was an infant at best during the urban riots, I'm thinking Kent State was late '60's early '70's? I was 6 months old when Kennedy was shot and will be 50 tomorrow. The attitude from D.C. is much different now than it was back then though. Obama is just looking for any excuse he can find to ban firearms in the hand of civilians. I think initially, there would be many arrested during this march, each of which would lose the blessing of the government to ever be in possession of a firearm again. That would be followed by more direct attacks on the Second Amendment with the blessings of the MSM and the sheeple. I see things happening in a "domino effect" leading to nationwide martial law and/or revolution.

Revolution or martial law... I somewhat doubt. It is however VERY true that D.C. is different than it used to be, (then again, I'm a youngin', so take my view with a grain of salt) but I think that the different attitude in D.C. will lead more to self-righteousness and flexing of law-making muscles than to revolution or something more extreme. In any time period though, this type of protest would lead to a tense situation, no matter what.

Washington is the same as it was, as it is, as it ever shall be. Ring up Will Rogers or Mark Twain if you doubt me. Whiskey Ring, Star Route, Petticoat Affair, Teapot Dome, Watergate, Iran Contra, Monica Lewinsky, Benghazi, Andrew Johnson Impeachment, both Nixon and Clinton had to endure impeachment proceedings. Spend a little time in American History. It's no different than in G. Washington's day. Just different subjects now and again.

Lest you think gun bans are anything new the first attack on the 2nd Amendment occurred in 1837 when Georgia banned handguns. It had to go before the Supreme Court to be declared unconstitutional. Sort of sounds like today, no?
