    Default Ammo Exchange?

    I was just thinking......

With all of the ammo shortages we're dealing with, is anyone interested in setting up some type of Ammo Exchange in the Forums?

Yeah, it could get a bit complicated. For example, in Massachusetts, any transfer has to go through an FFL, and state laws vary. I know that I can still mail ammo via the USPS direct to a friend depending on what state he/she lives in, but that certainly isn't true of all states.

The fact is (yeah, I know, "you never have enough ammo") I'm good on my supply, although I may be on the hunt for some .45 ACP in the near future. However, I know that's not true with all of us, particularly when it comes to all types of .22.

I tend to find some of the ammo most of you say you can't get, like Sarge, on his never-ending quest for .22LR. If I came across a case of 5,000 rounds, I'd be happy to grab them (yeah, even for YOU, Sarge) and send them off, so long as the transfer is perfectly legal and the buyer reimburses me MY COST for the ammo as well as shipping/mailing/FFL handling fees.

We're all supposed to be here to help each other, and I'm sure we can work out a system to accomplish this. So, is there any interest among the members in this idea?

I was looking for the .22LR for my son in Oklahoma. Also 9mm Luger, .223 or 5.56. We got lots of .45 ACP here, but I got no .45 1911. Also got lots of .40, .38 Special, .357, 30-06...but as for the last one, I got no M-1 Garand!....

I intend on getting back into reloading when I reitre at the end of the year. Been talkiing to a local gun shop owner about going bigger, more calibers, commercially. He specifically mentioned .223 and .308 as an addition to what I have.

I'd say with the track record that we have - unless you limit to people you have met or know - don't plan on it being returned.

I have 100 rounds of 5.56 Nato FMJ I would sell if anybody needs it. I would take about $40 for it plus shipping, or trade for 500 rounds of .22 ammo.
