River Fishing

So I do a lot of river fishing and I was wondering if any of you have any cool ideas for homemade fish traps,
crayfish traps, fish spears, nets etc. Anything you got.

I use bank poles quick a bit, baited with a small blue gill hooked through the back with a large hook. I cut the poles from willow, which work the best, larger than your thumb on the end you stick in the groud, about 6 feet long, tapered to the size of your little finger...green wood.

Use bank line or braided nylon string for your line. Amazing how many catfish I caught on that set up at night time. Small blue gill make catfish go nuts!
