    Default My new knife!

As part of my wilderness guide studies, I had a chance last weekend to try knife making basically from the scratch. I have tried forging once earlier when made my flint and steel set, but making knife was a new experience. Here is the results!

Looks great! I have never tried making a knife before. After looking at some of the posts here, I may have to give it try...

Turned out fantastic. Must still be hot from the forge.....all the snow around it melted.

    .Nice job.
I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

Very nice, what wood did you use for a handle?

Handle is made from curly birch with piece of reindeer antler + skin and finished with varnish. Sheath is also made from reindeer skin (that color is painted ... so not made from Rudolph ...) Felt that I have finally passed age of Rambo size blades, so decided made this knife with quite short blade.
