    Default January's Mushroom Hunt

    Here is the album: http://tinyurl.com/d7vrszb

I haven't been able to identify most of those mushrooms. The first few seem to be Cerrena unicolor (also called Daedalea unicolor, Trametes unicolor, or the Mossy Maze Polypore). The last one presented is an Inonotus obliquus (the famous Chaga mushroom, also called Clinker Polypore and Birch Conker I believe).

Would anyone be able to identify the others? Do they have any kind of utility (other than ecological, obviously)?

Yep. They're Polypores. That's about as far as I cared to learn about polypores besides Ganoderma applanatum...which it looks like you may have. Did you check for staining on any? You can make some pretty cool pictures or leave messages on them. Guests can not see images in the messages. Please register in the forum.

I had heard of the "Artist's Conk", but didn't think I had found one. I unfortunately didn't think about doing scrath-tests.

Could you tell me which picture-number would be the one?
