Default 9.5 hunter in s30v and buffalo horn

Buffalo horn is one of my favorite handle materials, this one has a little white streaking in it.

    knife is 9 1/2" long with a 4 1/2" blade
sheath is veggie tanned 8 - 9 oz leather

I love the lines on this one. I had a knife with roughly the same shape of blade, but a friend (well, he was a friend before this) lost it with a poorly placed throw at a stump in the forest. I really like your work. I'm curious, with the patterning of the back of the tang, how well does that hold up with the grip, after lots of use? Further more, how do you even achieve that pattern? It's gorgeous, and far more a work of art than anything I could attempt. It sure does inspire one to try though...

I just back fill the file work with dyed epoxy. To this date I have had no issues or reports of any issues. I'm sure at some point way down the line a piece of the epoxy could come out, but that in no way will effect the preformance of the knife. As for the file work pattern I just mark the spine of the knife at .25" intervials then file every other mark on each side of the blade with a 1/2 round file, I then come cut back into that cut with a modified triangle file.

Now that is a beautiful knife! I wonder what one of those would cost?

    Beautiful.
I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.
