    Default 1st knife of 2013

    Handle is Buckeye Burl from Big Island Hawaii. Blade is 440c stainless with copper pins.
    Overall length is 7 1/4 Blade length is 3 1/8 thickness is 1/8. With a Mirror Finish.

    Good looking sharp finger, one of my favorite desighns, the first knife I ever made was a sharp finger 25 some odd years ago I still have it.
    Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellers they are established.

    Nice, that burl is purty.
    I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

    That looks remarkably close to the hunting knife my grandad used to pack, he paid $5 35-36 years back.

    I have some of that same rope you used. Great stuff. In fact, I even have the same color. Incidentally, that color makes for a poor choice of tent lines. You will trip over the lines all day long, in daylight. You just can't see them. I had to go and buy some bright yellow line to replace it.

    The knife looks great, btw. You did an excellent job.
