Thread: Rendering talo

    Default Rendering talo

Lately I've been rendering some talo on my wood stove and collecting it.
After watching some youtube video we're thnking of making some lye soap after I soak some wood ash.

    But,last night I learned a valuable lesson.
I've been keeping the rendered talo in the downstairs basement walk out as it's cool in there and everytime I make a batch I put it in there to cool.
Well, last night I went out to get some wood and closed the upper door on the walk out, but, not the bottom.Came back to find my 4 yo. husky enjoying the talo as a treat.lol
Thankfully she was just licking it.It's pork talo,so kind of soft.

Gunner loves to play with turkey feathers when we clean turkeys.......but they stick in his nose....and he starts sneezing....doesn't slow him down.
