Thread: A profession when the poo hits the fan

Default A profession when the poo hits the fan

Ok, purely hypothetical. Say the economy implodes and the dollar turns into worthless toilet paper. Far-fetched, I don't doubt it.

However, should something like this happen, what sort of a profession would you recommend for such a disaster? Provide for a need that others have. You might not be 'rich', but at the bare minimum, you won't be starving to death.

A Midwife. Especially in our society where women are so afraid of birth, most of them are not going to do it by themselves, no matter what.
Why do I live in Alaska? Because I can.

My life has been at times in the state of poo hitting fans. Maybe that's why I ended up a plumber/tinknocker/hvac service tech

If you have any land, even just a backyard plot, grow food. There's usually a demand for that, and if your soil is good and you give it plenty of attention, you can grow a lot in a small space.

I'm a guy. If I had a vagina, that would be an easier option . Plus, something tells me that if there is a government/social breakdown, whoring myself out would be a very quick way to the grave for me. Soooooooooo, I'll pass .

Aye. That one too. No matter how piss-poor you are, you'll always want to eat and you'll do anything possible to get grub .

Farmer, Butcher, Fuel producer, Distiller... Lots of needs will have to be filled because so many have become incapable of doing anything for themselves.
Look at the things people spend money on and think about how much of it you know how to do. Groceries will be at the top of that list.
