I had this blank laying around for a while because I just didn't like the way it looked I ground the blade to long and straight for my taste, plus the file work looked goofy, I decided to put a handle on it anyway. It turned out the guy I originally made it for loved it so win win. This blade is not one I would normally make its way to hard, the guy wanted it a 61hrc so that's what I made it...its ridiculously hard to sharpen but s30v will support that hardness if heat treated correctly I sent this one to Peters heat treat to let them do it, that's all they do all day every day and trust me on the complex stainless steels they are the best. I have a lot of s30v stainless blades out there and get nothing but excellent feed back on edge retention and overall performance. I am about to run another batch of s30v blades and have myself one in the works.
