Their is the "squirrel pole", as well as more complicated triggering systems. Your best bet would be to get a good book on the subject. I like the "SAS Survival Handbook" by John "Lofty" Wiseman. It's pretty good.Originally Posted by LiL' bunny fufu

Theres the Dead Fall trap
A wise person does at once, what a fool does at last. Both do the same thing; only at different times.
Its not much of a trap but a couple of really well hidden holes in the middle of a meadow will catch plenty of vermin, just make sure its deep enough and be careful when you try to get whats inside, can catch snakes just as well (which can be tasty too).
The pit trap is good and easy. But the figuar 4 dead-fall is the best bet. I have made many traps and caught game with most of them. but it shure seems hard to beat the good old figuar 4.
