Red face Hi from Ottawa, Canada

    Hello,

I'm looking forward to chatting with all of you.
I'm not only new here, I'm also relatively new to
"Survival". So, I have a lot to learn. I'm mainly
Interested in wilderness survival, not so much
In the "SHTF" variety. For example, I don't own a
    gun.

I'm female. 40s. No military background, but did some
Hunting, fishing, etc. when I was younger. Single, no kids
So bushcraft activities are all solo right now. I don't
Have mega bucks to spend on gear. So far that hasn't been
a big problem. But I haven't been in the deep bush, so
maybe it could be in the future.

I love watching Survival YouTube videos. I'm learning tons
there from so many different kinds of people. I love
the resourcefulness and gung-ho of Survivors. It's
infectious. When I see the types of people in this
community I sometimes wonder if I didn't waste too
    many years in Univ.

I'm especially interested in connecting with people
locally. Even if it's just to chat over coffee. I'll look
forward to your emails if you send some. I guess that's
it for now. *waves bye for now*

    Hi loner,
Wow, my first day and I
    already have an email!
    It's nice to meet you.
    I've never been to Brockville.
I don't even know, off hand,
how far it is from Ottawa. I'll
    check a map. :-)
I'm glad there are other Canadians
On this forum. We have, er, let us
    say, special living obstacles than
in the States. (Ex. Big snow fall
Last week continuing as I write).
Tell me more about yourself. I'm
    Sincerely interested. Thanks.

    Greetings from Arizona!
Well over 2 decades ago, the company that I worked for had two contracts in Canada, and both of the main offices were in Ottowa. Absolutely beautiful.
My first flight in, I am watching a whole bunch of people skating on the river. There were baby carriages out there!
Kinda a new thing for an Arizona boy...

Hello Canuckette. I live just the other side of the border on the Niagara River, so I'm a little ways down Lake Ontario from you. Hope to hear from you often. Even questions can some times be a learning tool for others.
    Regards,

    Ellis

Hello and Welcome to the forum Canuckette! I too live in Ottawa and would enjoy discussing survival stuff with you over a coffee sometime in the new year. Nice to hear that you have fished before too as I LOVE fishing and there are many places to fish and camp close to home around here. Just got back from a hammock hanging day trip with my buddy, in the deepish snow. Invigorating it was and the campfire food was great too. Looking forward to hearing more from you. Happy New Year!
    Have a super one...

Welcome from the other end of the Appalachians.
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.
