I know that many people here have read the short story "To Build A Fire," by Jack London. Here is a link to an excellent 1970 BBC movie, 50 minutes, made of the story.
The acting is superb (both man and dog), the scenery is magnificent, and the story is read by the late Orson Wells. What more could one ask?
If you can watch this and not shiver and feel cold as the man tries and tries to build a fire, then you've never been really cold out in the boonies, finding yourself in need of a fire. I have but have never been as desparate as the man in the story.
Give it a look.
