Hi people, I'm "Atento". I'm 65 yrs young, I live (now) in Nicaragua. I started camping when I was about 8 or 9, row boat drifting down the Rock River, with my Uncle Hank hunting squirrels. He didn't hit anything, though he took a few shots with the 22 rifle he had with us.(He fired expert while in the Army). I have my suspicions it was a drift to just learn to be quiet and listen to nature, as I was told repeatedly.
My father went in with my Uncles and bought 3 aces on Gile Flowage just outside of Hurley, Wisconsin when I was 12 and we vacationed there in the June and Labor day weekend. Two years in Vietnam, a tip o' the hat to Uncle Sam. Long time subscriber to Mother Earth News. And that about wraps up my wilderness survival knowledge. Along with I love to read and gather tid-bits of trivia here and there. I hope to gather some useful information on wilderness-survival.net as well. Have an interesting life 'cause you only go-round once. ;-)
