Help with replys

When I go to reply to a post, all I can get up is the "quick reply" area, no matter weather I hit "reply" , or " reply to thread" button. I know it is probable me or my stupid putor but gee whizz.

Underneath the type box there are 3 options. Post quick reply, go advanced, cancel. Click go advanced and Bob's your uncle!

I hit "go advanced" and it said nothing about Bob being my uncle.
