kyrat,that is the only picture we got of him,where he is located is 20' from the feeder closest to the camera,and he is heading down a slight hill,there have been several sightings in our area,and the DNR investigates,but so far have not agreed that they are here.

nope,but he/it knows where the deer are eating now,I'm guessing there may be a gorey pic coming soon.
ANd I think it may be prudent to now carry full time when I'm outside?

Why not put something of a known size where the picture was taken the next time you are there. Put it as close to the spot where the cat was in the photo. A domestic cat is going to be closer to a foot tall at the shoulders and a cougar is going to be twice that or more.

Greene county is about an hour away from here,I think it is awesome if it is,and we are pretty sure it is,the trouble is we don't want to bait him back there to get more pics,because that is where we feed the deer for the winter,but I am pretty sure he scare off a doe ,the frame before this one had a doe feeding.

That's not much of a distance for territory and 18 months if he's roaming or if there are more than one.

I have heard their territory can cross state lines,the Clark State forest IS my front yard,so kind of surprised it took this long to see him if he has been here a while.

I don't claim any knowledge on these things at all but I think they've always been here even if they have been a minority. And they must keep a pretty low profile. Several years ago in S. Illinois the DNR there said, nope, none around here then someone killed one. Those stories seem to abound in every state. Perhaps it's anecdotal but it seems like they've always been here even if the numbers are very low. The IN DNR should be able to check tracks and size relative to distance from the camera on yours and tell what size cat they have. Not many tabbies that size.
