Default Squirrel chewing up my boat trailer

Why would a squirrel chew up plywood?

I woke this morning to the sound of a big fat squirrel chewing on the cargo box on my boat trailer.

Is there something he craves in the glue?

    Fortunately, the boat is aluminum.

If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

I have this problem on a constant basis, they chew EVERYTHING even my house! Squirrels are just like Mice, Rats and Beavers. They're teeth never stop growing, just like our fingernails, and they must constantly chew to wear down those chompers. They also love the insulation on wiring. I do my best to keep them in check with poison-> Lead poison, I use the brand named "22"

I had used some stain on the Taj-ma shed, (needs another coat)....but for what ever reason seems something, not sure what is chewing the siding at the seams?

I thinking they are just demented.......to bad they don't make arsenic paint....the little heathens.

Squirrels had gotten in the lean-to, made a nest IN a table saw, so I had to evict 5 babies, and the nest, and cover the hole with sheet metal

The aluminum boat is NOT safe. I have seen them gnaw through lead cable like a wood chipper was running. They really don't care what the material is as long as it keeps the teeth worn down as wtrflwrslfsd said. (Would you please put some vowels in your name!?). About the only thing that will keep them at bay is squirrel guard. It's a heavy PVC material that has been impregnated with some flavor squirrels don't like. They will start to chew on it then leave it alone. Don't ask me who did the taste testing. Perhaps the phone company there uses Squirrel Guard and the squirrel was chewing on the cargo box to get the taste out of his mouth.

Not to worry, there was a time when I kept tabs on a whole lots of them on a nightly basis! Not anymore but I feel certain they are all doing just fine without me.
That is funny...AR/AK....never thought about that one!

We had some large gray squirrels here, they chewed a 4 inch hole in the side of the neighbors house, I bought a couple of have-heart traps and to date moved 25, two bridges away, and shot 3 with the pellet rifle that wouldn't go in the trap. I took the traps in after they weren't touched in a couple of day's but I think there are a couple around since something is getting in the plants. Just have to make sure to close them up at night, got a skunk once, and it wasn't good...

The skunk is when you tell the neighbor, "Your turn."
