Broody chicken

Will a hen go broody at 8 months age?

I have one I can not get off the next. I have checked all the books and internet sources and they say 2 years, but I think this one is trying to hatch a clutch of eggs!

Bad time of the year to raise a family outdoors.

I had one do it at about a year old. I think she got mad at me for stealing all her eggs all the time. I had 2 fake eggs in there that she would always sit on regardless. I eventually took them out so she wouldn't have anything to sit on.
